Arrival 3pm, latest finish 6pm ( depending on entries ).
This event is part of the Norfolk School Games and aims to encourage more pupils to benefit from representing their school in competitive school sport.
Schools are invited to enter up to 2 dance squads, 1 from Year 7&8 and/or 1 from Year 9&10. Each squad can be between 4 and 30 members (single gender or mixed) to take part in the competition.
The routine MUST be choreographed by the pupils alone.
Each team should prepare a dance of any dance style. It is encouraged that choreography is not plagiarised and must be applied and adapted into original content.
Routines should be between 2.5 and 4 minutes in duration.
Teams are required to submit a short paragraph (max 150 words) detailing the inspiration and concept of the teams routine which will be used by the judges to score the categories.
Confirmation of how music should be submitted will be confirmed soon, also confirmation of the space size in which you will have to perform.
Each routine will be judged by a panel of external judges who will use the following five categories totalling 50 points;
- Concept and Soundtrack
- Choreography and Floor Use
- Performance skills
- Overall impact
- Costume Design
The winning dance will be the one with the highest number of points.
Teams should provide their own costumes.
Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate spectators at this event.
A risk assessment for the event will be emailed to schools approximately 2 weeks prior to the event.

The deadline for entering is Friday 8th November 2019 and all squads will have to confirm on Friday 30th November 2019 that they will be ready to perform on Thursday 12th December 2019.
If we have 2 or less performances able to perform on Friday 30th November then will we cancel the event at the Atrium and have video submissions ONLY, to pick our winners. Videos will then have to be submitted by Friday 13th December 2019.
The winners of this event will go onto the Norfolk School Games Winter Finals 2020 on Friday 14th February 2020 at SPortspark UEA to represent the North Norfolk School Sport Partnership.
