Welcome back to a brand new school year. We hope you had a lovely Summer break and are ready and excited for this new term.
There are a few changes happening with the School Games this year and these changes will all (hopefully) be confirmed to School Games Organisers on the 15th September 2021. Schools have already been informed of the expected changes but these will be confirmed to all, as soon as possible.
There will be a lot fewer pathway competition-based events, with the School Games finals currently not being planned as they have been in previous years. This is due to the new direction the Government is taking and where they are asking for funding to be spent.
The Norfolk School Games will continue to make a clear and meaningful difference to the lives of children
and young people that can benefit the most. We aim to do this by putting physical activity and competitive sport at the heart of schools and providing more young people with the opportunity to be regularly physically active and achieve their personal best.
The Games will provide opportunities and experiences that young people of all ages and abilities will enjoy. Rather than focussing on sporting outcomes (eg who wins/loses), the activities will be designed to support the wider development of young people
Dates for events and competitions may be later than usual but please bear with us and we will get information out to all as soon as we have things organised.
We hope everyone has a great first week back in school and you should hear from us soon!
